O’Neill v. Al Rajhi Bank
On June 30, 2014, the U.S. Supreme Court denied certiorari in O’Neill v. Al Rajhi Bank, No. 13-318, finalizing Bancroft client Yousef Jameel’s dismissal from the case. Plaintiffs in O’Neill filed suit against Mr. Jameel more than a decade ago based on donations that he had allegedly made to various charitable organizations. Mr. Jameel vigorously contested the allegations against him, and in June 2010 the District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed the case against Mr. Jameel. The Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit affirmed his dismissal from the lawsuit, and the Supreme Court declined further review. The lawsuit continues against other defendants.
