Brian J. Field


Brian J. Field is an associate at Bancroft PLLC. His practice focuses on complex litigation and corporate governance. Through his litigation experience, Mr. Field has represented clients in a wide variety of matters, including shareholder class actions, contractual disputes, and False Claims Act litigation. Mr. Field has also briefed several cases in state and federal courts of appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Through his corporate governance experience, Mr. Field has advised clients on regulatory risk and SEC reporting requirements, participated in due diligence for potential acquisitions, assisted internal investigations, and drafted various employment agreements.

Prior to joining Bancroft, Mr. Field served as Special Assistant to the Undersecretary of Defense (Comptroller), where he helped to develop legislative strategy. Before his work at the Department of Defense, Mr. Field served as a Fellow in Counterterrorism and Homeland Security with the Institute for Global Security Law and Policy. While at the Institute, Mr. Field authored litigation memoranda for the Department of Defense Office of Military Commissions, U.S. Coast Guard, and the Iraqi High Tribunal.

Mr. Field has published scholarly works in the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Economic Law and the University of Iowa Journal of International Law and Contemporary Problems. He has also been published by the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies.

Mr. Field is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law and is admitted to practice law in Illinois and the District of Columbia.
